1938 DELAGE D8 100-120 CABRIOLET BY DE VILLIARS

The D8 was the flagship of the French maker of luxury cars Delage. The production took place between 1929 and 1940, but the version D8.100 began producing during 1936. Already at that time, this model was winning at the competitions of Elegance and in the higher circles has become a very popular car. To improve sales of the model D8, Walter Watney, at that time the company owner SNAD (Société Nouvelle des Automobiles Delage) decided to create a shorter and sportier chassis with the label D8.120, which better fitted the body coupe and roadster. Our exemplar D8.100 / 120 with the chassis number # 51597 is unique by being marked as a D8.100, but it is authentic with D8.120. The document from May 1936 contains a transcript of the management company meeting, where it was decided that several chassis D8.120 dismount external exhaust pipes and sell as D8.100. Only two cars were bodied by de Villiars and this is one of them. This is a very rare car that belonged to same owner for 47 years and a long time has been exhibited in the Museum of Le Mans.

Features include original accents & badges (Rare!), an original dashboard with all the tellers. Beautiful back seat compartment separate from the front cabin. Superb collection car, being very sharp, smart and attractive as a smart investment. The amount of details and accents on this car is enormous.

1928 VOISIN C11 BERLINE

Six-cylinder, Sleeve-Valve, 2.326 cm3 Berline Engine Gabriel Voisin was perhaps France's greatest aviation pioneer. In 1907 he built the first practical aeroplane capable of leaving the ground under its own power, and his Avions Voisin company was the first mass producer of aircraft in the world. But the end of WWI in 1918 brought a halt to Voisin's aviation ventures and forced him to look elsewhere to provide employment for his workforce. After experimenting with motorized bicycles and a light cyclecars, Voisin decided to produce an automobile that would be unrivaled for prestige, comfort and speed. The resulting Knight sleeve-valve engined 4.0-litre Voisin M1 appeared in 1919. Voisin kept faith with the smooth and silent sleeve-valve engine and gradually extended its use to the smaller models in the range. In 1927 introduced his first six-cylinder car, the C11, which was powered by a 2.326cc Knight engine. Voisin's most successful model, the C11 and its derivatives remained in production until 1936. A rare survivor of a marque that created some of the most original cars of all time, this C11 Berline has formed part of a private collection in Spain since the 1960s and was previously registered in Madrid with the number 'M-29446'. Noteworthy features include Jaeger instrumentation and large Marchal headlights. The Voisin has not been used for some time and remains in highly original condition, albeit in need of re-commissioning. We are advised that the engine runs and that four new tyres have been fitted. Recently registered in the UK, the car is offered with V5C registration document and old (1940) Spanish registration papers.

Bugatti Type 57 Coupe Ventoux

A 1st Series Ventoux , chassis number , 57345 remains outstandingly original . The car was ordered new in December 1935 by its first owner , André , Charles Chauvenet , a prominent surgeon from Sévres and one of Bugatti's most favoured clients . In 1960 , the car was sold to J.W. Harrison of Arlington , Virginia and shipped to the USA and then was registered with the American Bugatti club . In 1967 Harrison sold the Ventoux to collector David Uihlein of Wisconsin , who rather than treat the car as a , museum piece ' . For more than 40 years Mr. Uihlein enjoyed the Type 57 , which when sold after his death was essentially the same as when it had been delivered new . Today it is one of the very few of its type left in un - restored condition , and accordingly is highly valued .
